The session invited speakers from Indonesia and Bangladesh. There are Nissi Taruli Felicia from Indonesian-based deaf feminist communities Feminis Themis, Maharetta Maha, a chairperson from Indonesia nation-wide different ability women organization HWDI, and Vashkar Bhattacharjee, a national consultant for the a2i program by Bangladesh government.
You can support this session by four ways:
- Discuss the topic with the deaf and blind people around you. What are their awareness level and challenges on digital rights?
- Localize the languange. The discussion will be in English, and through the support of ICT Watch, we have provided BISINDO (Indonesian sign language) <> English instructor. The sign language is an intimate and nuanced language, you can support this session by providing local sign language to English and vise versa, so the deaf community in your area will be able to follow the conversation. Or, of course, interpreter from English to your local language.
- Join the online session, listen and engage the speakers, connect with afterward. Don’t forget to register first at https://rightscon.org, free ticket is available!
- Share and relay the information, better even further beyond the session. Bring the discussion to your communities. Don’t let it stop after we end the session.
I welcome any other support and love you can shower to this session. Further information will be provided in this page later on, including report from the session and the published recording.
